It’s easy to make your own favor labels. It doesn’t even require that much patience. It just requires a little bit of planning in advance.

Things you’ll need:

Labels in the correct size for your project.

Word processing or graphics program templates to design the labels that match the label sheets you’ll use during printing (keep reading and we’ll show you how to get them).

Text or design that you want to use.

You’ll want to use:

A laser printer if you’re using clear labels.

An inkjet printer if you want to use color.

It really is this easy.

• To make your own favor labels, get labels in the correct size for your wedding favors by determining the size of your favor boxes, favor tins, or other item you want to decorate.

• Then, compare that size with the options for labels at www.onlinelabels.com. Note: Even if you don’t purchase from this company, this is an excellent website for reference purposes.

• Now, you’ll notice that, when you select a label size, you will see an option to download templates and formatting instructions for that size of label. Click there and you’ll get a whole lot of options for different programs, from word processing and PDF styles to other advanced graphics programs. Simply choose what you need. For most people, a word processor will do the job nicely.

• Once you’ve downloaded the template, you can make your own favor labels by entering the text in the boxes in the templates. Select the text and use the drop down menus to change fonts and font sizes until you get the look you want. Copy and paste the design you put into one of the template’s boxes into the other boxes to make a full sheet of favor labels.

• Then, put a test sheet of blank white paper in your printer (not labels) and mark it on one side in any way you choose. Note whether you put the marked side of the page face up or down. Now, print a test sheet on this piece of paper and note which side of the paper has the printed text – the marked or unmarked side. Now you know which way to put the labels in your printer for the real thing. Now simply put the label sheets in and print.
