Nowhere does it say that you have to pick one wedding favor for your entire wedding reception.

Nowhere does it say that you absolutely have to have wedding favors at all! There's a lot of good reasons to do so, but let's talk about a different approach to coffee wedding favors in particular and then wedding favors in general.

Don't feel like you have to use wedding favors as wedding favors just because that's what they're called. Today's wedding favors are so unique, so customizeable, and so theme-oriented that they work really well as unique wedding decorations in many cases.

Coffee wedding favors lend themselves perfectly to this idea because there aren't many "coffee themed" weddings. But there are lots of weddings where coffee or tea is served and a little personalization, customization, and attention to detail would make a big difference in the guests' experience.

Most minimum orders for coffee favors, if there are minimums at all, are small (12-24) and inexpensive. For example, personalized coffee packets come in sets of 12 that serve 8 cups each. That's 8 medium sized pots of coffee or 8 large pots of coffee that are about 3/4 full for $21.00. That's probably enough coffee for a given event since not every one will have coffee.

The same goes for coffee scoops - use them where you need them. Everyone doesn't have to have one if it's a decoration that simply adds to your event.

Mini coffee candle wedding favors can be used as decorations at the coffee table or bar instead of sitting in front of every guest. You get the idea by now. As you read the rest of the ideas, think in terms of ways you can use a coffee wedding favor that have nothing to do with being a wedding favor and you'll be well on your way to customizing every little detail for a lot less than you otherwise would have.

Now, having said all of that, a coffee wedding favor is a lot more useful that it first appears. We’ll grant that there aren’t too many people that have a “coffee” themed wedding. However, one of the great things about this idea is that it can be used for several purposes. A simple personalized coffee favor can be presented in several different ways throughout the events that surround your wedding. For the sake of this discussion, we'll agree that tea wedding favors work with a lot of these ideas as well. Here are a few ideas:

Since you’re a detailed person (and you must be since you’re at a site about details), you may consider some kind of a welcome bag or basket for your out of town guests. These are usually left in hotel rooms or at the front desk for your arriving guests. Alternatively, they can be given at a dinner (if you have one) for out of town guests or at the rehearsal dinner. A coffee wedding favor is a perfect addition to a gift such as this.

If you’re throwing a bridal shower, you can serve personalized coffee favors that have the couple’s name and wedding date….and brew some right there for everyone.

Miniature teacups or regular sized coffee mugs can be filled with candles or candies as a wedding favor at any wedding related event. And, if you choose a tasteful enough design, you can bet that most guests will want to save them and display them in their homes or take them full of coffee on their morning commute to work.

• You can put extra baskets of your coffee favor bags at your reception’s bar or coffee station.

• Serve coffee wedding favors with organza or glassine bags full of sugar cubes.

• If you’re going all out, you can order personalized coffee mugs with your own logo (we’re getting pricey here, though).

• Simple, non-personalized, 2 ounce bags of gourmet coffee are a great coffee wedding favor. Flavored coffees are a great idea – choose your favorite flavor or an assortment for guests to choose from.

• It’s not exactly coffee, but in keeping with the theme, personalized or non personalized mint tins are a great coffee wedding favor in addition to other coffee items or as a standalone wedding favor.
